Pet Tech: Fi Drops Satellite Tracker Prices Amid Subscription Costs
A 30 percent discount on the Fi Ultra GPS tracker brings the device's price back to its launch cost, though active users must still pay for ongoing service.

Fi has reduced the price of its satellite-connected pet trackers by 30 percent, a move that brings the flagship model back to its original launch cost. The promotion runs through October 25 and requires shoppers to enter the coupon code SCARY at checkout.
The discount applies to several models, including the Fi Ultra GPS. After the reduction, the device costs $209.30. Fi positions the Ultra as the first dog tracker to combine T-Satellite, Starlink, GPS, and LTE networks. This combination allows the device to report a pet's location even in areas without cellular coverage.
The hardware features an IP68 rating, making it fully waterproof for use in saltwater. Battery life lasts up to five days for average activity levels. The unit clips onto a collar or harness and can vibrate or play sounds to alert a pet. Fi tested the device in a remote part of South Carolina earlier this year and found the tracking to be precise.
However, the two-to-three minute update interval may be too slow for fast-moving dogs. The battery also drains faster in Lost Mode, lasting barely two days on a full charge. The physical size of the device suggests it fits larger dogs better than smaller breeds.
The hardware cost is only part of the expense. Users must maintain an active subscription to access tracking features. Fi offers six-month, one-year, and two-year plans. The one-year plan costs $99 for the first year and $189 for each subsequent year. These plans are available only in the United States, and satellite coverage does not extend to Alaska.
Other discounts are available on the same platforms. Amazon lists a physical copy of Kirby Air Riders for the Nintendo Switch 2 at $48.99, down from the standard $69.99. The JLab JBuds Talk USB-C microphone is priced at $24.99, a reduction from its typical range of $50 to $100.
Lego's Star Wars Grogu set is also discounted by $26 to $103.99, matching its lowest recorded price. The 1,200-piece kit includes a satchel and swappable arms and facial features. A built-in lever allows the figure's head to turn.
