The Wisconsin women's tennis team remains unbeaten at 6-0 after winning two duals by identical scores of 7-0 on Saturday. The Badgers defeated Bradley in the first match and then shut out Green Bay in the second. This result gives the team its best start to a season since 1992.

Green Bay entered the second match with only five players available. The visitors could not keep pace with Wisconsin, who held a consistent lead throughout the contest.

Wisconsin controlled the doubles portion of both matches. Freshman MaryAnn Rompf and senior Kelsey Grambeau beat Theresa Tebon and Tallie Piaskowski 6-1. Sophomore Melissa Pick and freshman Lexi Keberle won the second doubles point 6-0 against Maria Neff and Samm Pedersen.

No Wisconsin player dropped a set in the singles matches. Keberle, playing at first singles, defeated Tebon 6-1, 6-1. She now holds a combined record of 7-0 in both singles and doubles. Rompf won the second singles match against Piaskowski, 6-3, 6-1.

Michelle Linden took the third singles point against Sterre Tijssens, 6-1, 6-0. Pick shut out Neff, 6-0, 6-0. At fifth singles, Christina Zordani beat Pedersen 6-0, 6-1 to improve to a 5-0 record in singles this season.

Head coach Kelcy McKenna credited the team for focusing on attitude, effort, and energy. She noted that the squad must continue to manage details in daily drills to prepare for the upcoming season. McKenna said the team needs to clean up its serves and returns in doubles. She also emphasized the importance of carrying momentum into singles matches without giving away free points.

Wisconsin will next compete in the National Team Indoor Championship. The event is scheduled for Feb. 9-12, and the Badgers will host the competition.
