Pueblo residents can expect a high of 80 degrees on Friday, October 23, before a sharp temperature drop sets in over the weekend. This warm day marks the end of a recent heat spell, with Saturday’s high forecast to fall into the 50s. The shift brings a 30-degree swing in daily temperatures for the region.
Morning temperatures in Pueblo were forecast to start in the 50s, with clouds breaking to allow sunshine and afternoon warming. Along Interstate 25, clear skies were expected to appear around 10 a.m. as morning overcast cleared. The advancing front from the west is expected to increase cloud cover and potentially trigger storms in areas farther south and east.
Rain chances on the south side of Pueblo are estimated at 10% to 20% for Friday, with a higher likelihood of precipitation during the weekend. Canon City faces a 20% to 30% chance of afternoon showers, though most locations there may stay dry. The city’s high is forecast at 75 degrees, with a low of 49.
Temperatures in the surrounding area will also decline. Woodland Park is predicted to reach a high of 58 degrees and a low of 39, with afternoon clouds following earlier sunshine. Monument and the Tri-Lakes area will see a high of 69 degrees and a low of 43, followed by Saturday highs in the 50s. Farther south, Walsenburg and Trinidad are expected to hit 73 and 74 degrees, respectively, before weekend highs drop into the 50s.
The eastern plains may see thunderstorms return by Friday evening after a sunny start, with afternoon temperatures in the 70s and 80s. Mountain areas will have highs in the 60s and lows in the 30s. In southwestern Colorado, lingering moisture and flooding remain concerns as water levels take time to recede.
Conditions are expected to calm down next week, featuring sunshine and partly cloudy skies. Temperatures will gradually warm into the 60s. The preliminary outlook for Halloween predicts dry weather with temperatures in the 50s and 60s, although this forecast remains subject to change.
