The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine released the count at 8:00 a.m. on October 28. Russian commanders concentrated their efforts on the Pokrovsk, Kostiantynivka, and Huliaipole fronts.
The Pokrovsk sector absorbed the most pressure. Ukrainian units repelled 32 Russian attacks in that area. Russian troops attempted to advance toward Sofiivka, Vilne, Vodianske, Vasylivka, Molodetske, and Udachne. They also pushed toward Toretske, Kucheriv Yar, Dobropillia, Hannivka, Novohryshyne, Hulive, and Serhiivka.
Fighting remained intense on the Kostiantynivka front, where Ukrainian forces logged 15 Russian assaults. Russian units conducted offensive operations near the city of Kostiantynivka and moved toward Raiske and Pavlivka. On the Huliaipole front, Russian troops launched 17 attacks. They targeted positions near Ternuvate, Dolynka, Hirke, Charivne, and Yehorivka.
Combat activity continued across other sectors. On the South Slobozhanshchyna front, Ukrainian forces repelled five Russian attacks directed at Okhrimivka and Mala Vovcha. Russian forces made three attempts to improve their positions on the Kupiansk front, pressing toward the village of Radkivka.
Ukrainian defenders held their lines on the Lyman front after repelling six Russian assaults aimed at Nove, Stavky, and Lyman. Two Russian attacks occurred on the Sloviansk front, one near Yampil and another toward Orikhuvatka. Russian troops conducted three attacks on the Kramatorsk front, targeting Malynivka, Vasiutynske, and Chervone.
In the North Slobozhanshchyna front and the Russian Kursk Oblast operational zone, Russian forces executed 37 strikes on Ukrainian positions and settlements. Three of those strikes used multiple-launch rocket systems. Ukrainian units recorded no Russian assaults on the Oleksandrivka, Orikhiv, or Prydniprovske fronts. The General Staff found no evidence of offensive Russian groups forming on the Volyn or Polissia fronts.
