House Democrats are preparing to remove Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth if they win enough seats in November, according to the Wall Street Journal. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries said at a rally in Pennsylvania that one of the first things the party will do in the majority is run Hegseth out of town. Other Democratic lawmakers have also been critical of Hegseth, with Rep. Pramila Jayapal calling him incompetent and corrupt, and Rep. Jared Huffman calling him an unhinged fanatic who should be impeached and removed from office. Republican Rep. Thomas Massie has also filed articles of impeachment against Hegseth, accusing him of abusing his office by executing an order for hostilities against Iran without approval from Congress. Massie has said he intends to force an impeachment vote shortly after the House returns to session on Nov. 9, the week after the elections. The impeachment talk comes as Hegseth's movements overseas draw scrutiny, including a covert meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at Israel's Ovda air base on Monday.
