Andrew Garfield’s portrayal of a historical outlaw returns to audiences this Friday, Nov. 6, when The Uprising lands on Peacock. The platform will host the exclusive streaming debut of the film directed by Paul Greengrass. The movie adapts true events that scholars argue inspired the folk legend of Robin Hood. Viewers who missed the theatrical run can now access the title on the service.
The project marks a recent shift for Greengrass, who is known for directing political thrillers like The Bourne Ultimatum and 22 July. By adapting a medieval legend, the director moves into a historical genre that blends action with period drama. Garfield stars in the lead role, bringing the character to life in a story rooted in English folklore and historical record. The film’s arrival on Peacock expands the library of prestige dramas available to subscribers ahead of the holiday season.
In a separate development, Netflix has confirmed a third season for the animated series Haunted Hotel. The show, created by Matt Roller of Rick and Morty, continues its run on the platform. Season 2 centered on a single mother managing a supernatural property with the help of her ghost brother and a demon trapped in a child’s body. The cast for upcoming episodes includes Will Forte, Eliza Coupe, Skyler Gisondo, Natalie Palamides, and Jimmi Simpson. The renewal ensures the series will continue its blend of horror and comedy.
Grammy winner Raye has joined the production of Lizard Music, a film directed by Benny Safdie. Deadline reports that Raye will voice a character and compose original music for the project. The movie combines live-action footage with GCI animation. The cast also features Dwayne Johnson, Alicia Silverstone, Tim Heidecker, Regina Hall, Colman Domingo, Jeff Goldblum, Rachel McAdams, and David Krumholtz. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on Dec. 25, 2027.
